Another thing the plates and your price ranges.
The larger the plate obviously the more expensive it is going to be but a plate like this, the
Washington Vase pattern would be between $75 and $125 depending on the condition. You are
going to find some crazing in these plates to a certain degree and that is not unusual
because they are over a 100 plus years old. Another thing you will see is the scratch
marks from people using them with tableware. You can see knife marks in some of these.
That does affect but is minor compared to the chips, cracks and discoloration. This
one is fairly clean. It has some cracks and some discoloration but not bad. Overall I
would rate this plate 9 out of 10 so this plate would cost you at least $75, closer
to a $100 for it so that’s one thing. When you go down in size from 7 and 8 inch plates,
you are going to pay anywhere $50 to $80 a plate depending on condition, that is with
good condition. These sugar bowls can range in condition all whole without any cracks
or lines or anything missing on them like this one could cost you from $75 to $125 for
a sugar bowl. So that is one thing to think about. Handles and cups and sauces could range
starting about $50 anywhere upward to $100 plus depending on the pattern you are collecting.
If it is more available and easier to find, you might find that they are a little less
expensive. Be prepared to pay for a handle less cup and saucer that is in fairly good
condition at least $50 to $75.
